Psiphon is a free open source anti-censorship or VPN software. The project has been designed to let people access the open internet. This revolutionary free sourced VCP was created in the University of Toronto’s Citizen lab under the direction of Professor Roland Delibert, Director of the Citizen Lab.
What is Psiphon?
Psiphon is a circumvention tool from Psiphon Inc. that utilizes VPN, SSH and HTTP proxy technology. This means by using the mix of both Virtual Private Network and Secure Shell technologies, Psiphon can secure bypass your restricted internet. And make it totally censor-free as imposed by some countries government which uses content-filtering to hide information from their people
As for security concerns, you don’t need to worry about it all, Psiphon servers won’t collect any personal information, the software is also free to use and do not require any payments so you don’t have to enter or worry about filling in the details of your credit card either, Also since there is no sign up, your email id is also secure.
How to Use this Program
Firstly you need to download the Windows app for free form simply download it from the main Psiphon Website. For mobile phone users, you can also download the Android and iOS apps from their respective app store. Countries where the Psiphon website is banned, the people can email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request the software for themselves via email.
Now that you have downloaded the program you can simply select the country from where you want o remotely access your internet and press the connect button. Within some seconds you shall be connected to the internet and will be able to browse by your remote server.

What does it work?
By default, Psiphon uses SSH to deliver a secure connection to its servers. This connection is secure enough for bypassing most forms of censorship. For the VPN connections, Psiphon uses the L2TP/IPsec VPN protocol. This method is generally regarded to be more secure. In addition to this, Psiphon automatically changes your Windows Domain name System (DNS) to ensure no DNS leak occurs while you are using Psiphon.
The Psiphon website, however, does not explain which cypher or key length is used to secure data, but whatever is used is simply worth it and totally fine for bypassing usual censorship.
